10 Freshest Firefox Add-ons to Boost your Productivity

18 June 2007 No Comment

As I was browsing, I found these firefox add-ons which are not only useful but also enhances your browsing experience and to do more in less time.

Check out!

10. Firefix: It is annoying to see a “Server not found” page on firefox – just because you mistyped a letter. Firefox automatically corrects the mistyped urls. For e.g., if you type blogger.con, it automatically corrects it to blogger.com and so on. Script by Neil Phillips

09. BB Composer: “This add-on allows you to edit text area contents by switching in a WYSIWYG mode with a right click on it. You can choose 4 content types : XHTML, BBCode, XBBCode and Wiki. Especially useful for CMS, Wiki and Forums. Returns valid and semantic code in whatever format you choose”. Script by Nicolas FROIDURE

Another similar tool is Text Formatting Toolbar by Michael B. It has additional functionality to add html code as well.

08. DownthemAll: DownThemAll is all you can desire from a download manager – comes within firefox: it features an advanced accelerator (not connected with DAP or download accelerator) that increases speed up to 400% and it allows you to pause and resume downloads at any time! It is a freeware tool and no extra s/w is needed.

Another one named, DownloadHelper is a very handy tool to download video (like YouTube) and image files from web as you browse. Script by mig

07. Auto complete Manager: Ever fancied about managing, organizing the auto complete entries of your browser? Try this add-on to have a complete control of auto complete entries and more. Script by Nikitas Liogkas

06. Drag Drop Upload:”Drop files into attachment boxes instead of browse for them or type in the filename. Drop multiple files and fill all the entries. In some websites it allows to add new upload files: in Gmail is possible to drop the files directly over the “Attach a file” link”. Script by Emanuele Ruffaldi

05. Download Statusbar: Hate the way the download window disrupts your browsing experience? Try this little-on, you will notice the download status in the status bar. Beautiful. Script by Devon Jensen

04. Www – What: As you type the url in the address bar, a pop-up displays closest matching urls (over 5 million entries) for you to select from. What a time saver. Script by Kogo

03. PDF download: Some .pdf files won’t open smoothly – so instead this add-on gives you options to either download it or view it. Script by Denis Remondini

02. IE Tab in Firefox: This will add an IE Tab in Mozilla/Firefox…Yes, you will see firefox tabs as well as IE tabs.

“This is a great tool for web developers, since you can easily see how your web page displayed in IE with just one click and then switch back to Firefox”. Script by PCMan (Hong Jen Yee)

01. Password Maker: I have over 50 accounts on various online services that means I have to remember at least half the number of usernames and passwords, right? “PasswordMaker manages all your online accounts using either new, uncrackable passwords it creates, or your existing passwords. It even automatically populates webforms for one-click login”. Script by Eric H. Jung

And one more add-on Clear Fields by Wired :: Alex Alexander that adds a tiny eraser icon by the side of tool bar forms such as address bar, search bar etc. Click on it to clear the history (past entries). Very handy tool.
