5 Newest Social Web Services and What they do

28 June 2007 2 Comments
Here we present five of the latest social web applications that are uniquely special in each way. Check them out.
5. Zentation – Now you can watch the speaker presenting in a conference via a video and you can see the power point presentation simultaneously. When the speaker clicks the next slide in the video, the next slide is presented to you as well.

“Using Zentation is simple. Users upload their video to Google Video, log
into Zentation and copy and paste the URL of the Google video, then upload a
PowerPoint file. The final step involves using the “ZenSync” tool to provide
precise start timings for each graphic in the presentation.” via TechCrunch

4. Thoof - Thoof, where do they get such name from? Thoof is social news sites like Digg , where users submit news, links, photos and videos and vote on them. The twist lies in the presentation – if you vote on few things and thoof will learn that you like certain things and presents to you similar things.

And you can improve the description of stories, tag them correctly to make it a good story.

3. Pownce – Another start up from Kevin Rose of Digg fame. It is much like twitter, where you can share links, messages, videos or pictures with your friends. You can have different groups and you can share different things with each.

You can either have a client software installed on your PC to track the things that you share on you can have them reflect on your Pownce page.

2. MizPee – A web service to find the nearest toilet. They will find the closest, cleanest toilet and gives you entertaining reading material once you get there (I am not kidding – I am saying word by word). Since the service is cell phone-based, it’s always with you, when you really need it. Now, only available in few US cities. Cool, yeh?

1. Blinksale - Lets you create invoices for your clients. You can create and send professionally designed invoices without the help of any accountant. You can integrate PayPal option with it and it is also a winner of the recent Webware 2007 competition.

Try them, they are worth it.
