That was a side effect of emailing a bunch of bloggers about one of my finished projects demonstrating that an old fashioned mailshot can also be successful sometimes. Finally made the $100 last month hopefully will have a payment in a few days time. November and December were particularly high months for advertising.

This month my Flea Chariot article got a mention on boingboing which is like a less techy version of Slashdot with lots of readers. Surely how often and how much you post is related to point 2. By using things like google analytics and feedburner you can tell not only who your readers are but how they get to your blog. If they are mainly hitting you via searches or inbound links then the it's content not frequency that's important. If on the other hand you have regular readers then a mixture of short and long articles would be better. The point about quality content is important though.
