Microsoft is very serious about the growing GMail customers. Well, they have to – because, if you get used to Gmail, it is hard to use Hotmail. Now, anyone who have been using Hotmail will know that you have a 2GB inbox. There’s more to come – Microsoft will offer 5 GB inbox from now on for FREE and 10 GB if you are ready to pay.
Other cool features include:
- Storing multiple email-ids for a person. Mails that you receive from official account and personal account of a person would be automatically stored under the person’s name.
- Increased security for your inbox. Better Spam fighting (We have heard that before!).
- Support for Hebrew, Arabic languages (Right-to-left written).
- Now, you can set an auto-forward to another mail account (However, free users can only forward to another hotmail account).
- Cobranding with your own organization logo – this may cost I guess.
- Now, you can turn-off the annoying "Today" feature.
- Auto-vacation replies will be spent to your friends if you have not responded to your emails in 3 or 4 weeks.
These upgrades will be done in a phased manner. Some of user accounts have abeen already moved to the new hotmail. others have to wait.
