We all have problems. Some seems big and some seems small. Here are some tips to solve almost any kind of problem no matter how big they are; no matter who you are. Think of a problem as an opportunity to learn new things. May be a problem will teach you a lesson or help you to overcome a fear. Problems will appear to come back to you until you learn to master them.

1. Every problem has a solution, whether you are aware of it or not. And no matter what problem you may face, there are already people who might have successfully solved it.

2. Break down the problem into manageable chunks. Write down the sub-problems or the tasks you need to achieve.

3. Imagine that you successfully solve the problem. Clearly visualize that you are happy after solving the problem.

4. Most of the problem is in your mind.

5. You gather relevant information, people who can solve it. Learn to distinguish the real problem from the problems that you are imagining. Most of the time, we fear about the after effects, which stop us from taking actions.

6. Gather enough information to approach the problem. Can you find an expert who is good at solving these types of problems? Can you ask your friends to refer someone who might know the know-how of solving this kind of problem?

7. Talk with people who can find a solution to the problem. If one can’t solve it, ask them who else will be able to solve the problem.

8. Be prepared to change your approach if your solution doesn’t work. There are more than one way to solve a problem. Keep some backup plans in case if a solution fails.

9. Sometimes starting from the end result and working backwards can result in a solution. Start from the desired result.

10. Always remember. Every problem has a good solution. You just need to find it. Ask for help. Your friends or the people who care about you are waiting for an opportunity to help you. All the best.

The question, ‘How can you build a friend’s network that helps you?’ actually asks,’ How do you need to think, feel and behave so that you can have mutually beneficial relationships with others and overcome interpersonal problems with the help of your social network?’

There are different ways to answer this question. One way could be to think of relation-ships as a result of a large number of factors. To be simple, just think of what can help leaves on a tree to keep them healthy. If the tree has strong roots and other related nutrients required are available from soil then tree prospers evergreen. All such things we learned at school that they are useful for its growth. If you cut down any part of the tree either roots or branches, it will have an impact on the tree entirely.

This is the analogy that explains you the importance of having relationships that can help you to in fact make your living comfortably.

But how do you make new relations that really help you in need?

1.Information is wealth and best way to get information is through contacts with people. So to make new friends be part of social circles, clubs or associations that are the best sources for meeting great and good people.

2.Keep attending conferences, meets, presentations and try to grab all the opportunities.

3.Join communities no matter what they are if you find it good and interesting like for instance quizzing groups, online communities.

4.Since now you can buzz anyone anywhere by email or any other means online its always useful to keep in touch always.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_FnTiGTzxyvA/SRUfdvbk_wI/AAAAAAAAC0g/1AEVXPfufDA/s400/j0430462.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266149935088467714" />
5.Communication skills, listening skills, adding value to others and to one’s own lives, respecting other’s privacy, ability to overcome obstacles etc show that you are powerful. These are like tools for you to easily meet and mingle with new people.

6.Such skills give you good interpersonal experiences as a result you form strong relationships.

8.On the other hand people will like you only if you have something more or new in you like knowledge, skill or power so keep working on these things by continuously acquiring them.

It is not possible for you to mingle and build relations hence it would be better to act wisely. All you need is to make use of your abilities and skills to make as many good friends you can. Who knows you might need any one of them at any of the critical times.

You can be the one by,

 * Adding value to other’s life that indirectly adds value to your own life.

* Interpersonal experiences that teach you a lot to go further.

* Respecting other’s space is the minimum quality one needs.

Finally you can gain a lot too since it builds up your self respect and in general your influence. Improves your ability to overcome obstacles which probably every one wants to have in them. Politicians make their living with relationships and you know how well and respectful they are treated. Influence and power is something that can only be obtained by relationships. So whether its social networking, friends or relatives stay connected.

Few days ago, I asked my fellow LinkedIn members to tell the best lesson that they learnt in their career.

The answers were simply amazing and it will be of use to anyone who starts in their career or who wants to do better in their career. My sincere thanks to all the answerers who spent time to come up with good career advice.

1. Train yourself.
2. Be responsible.

3. Everything is not for money.
4. Be reliable.
5. Everyone make mistakes.

(Victoria Joffre, HR Coordinator at Bunge Argentina)

6. Do not waste your time in searching for a mentor. Make your own way by learning from your mistakes.
7. Learn to depend on yourself. You can always start at present to pave a bright future.

(Neha Bhandari, Mgmt Trainee – Research at National Multi Commodity Exchange)

8. Trust your instincts:

When everything seemed to be lost; my trust in others had vanished; I was alone with my uncertainties, fears and doubts and I didn’t know exactly what to do, how to do it and when to do it, then, I realized that I had yet a last and always infallible resource, my inner light, my intuition, my wise instinct to discover the true course of action and thereby get the certainty about knowing what to do, how to do it and when to do it, although this could signify starting the game again being a better person and a wiser professional with a stronger vision and a baggage of new learnings, experiences and competences.

(Octavio Ballesta, Management Consultant Corporate Strategist)

9. Love what you do.

Given to me by the great science fiction writer, Ray Bradbury. “Name your loves, then prove your loves.”

The secret, I have learned thanks to Mr. Bradbury, is not doing what you love, but loving what you do.

(Mike Bonifer, Author, Educator, CEO at GameChangers)

10. There is always more to learn

12. Never mess up with your Boss. In an argument with the Boss, you lose more than just your stand

13. “When you lose, don’t lose the lesson”. In other words, never repeat your mistakes

14. “Volunteer yourself for work other than limited to your areas that improves your skill set and visibility in the organization”

15. “Have a good networking with past colleagues and seniors, they help you in time of need”

16. “Believe in sharing knowledge and grabbing opportunities to learn new things. Good people never leave their habit to learn”

17. “Make best use of first 90 days in a new job”. Read ‘The First 90 Days’ By Michael Watkins (A must read for all professionals)

20. ‘You are only as good as the last thing you did’

21. Never kick a door in anger as you don’t know who’s on their way in! )

22. ‘Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.’ I will leave you with that quotation by the inimitable PJ O’Rourke.

23. Do not live under a stone. Keep yourself relevant by keeping up with trends

It’s easy to get engrossed in the details of now, but it’s vitally important that you take a step back and look at larger trends. Our world is changing at an extremely rapid pace. If you aren’t looking, technology may chage many things in the bat of an eye. In the last 5 years the iPod has virtually revolutionized the Mp3, the music and the cellphone industry. The devices we carry in our pockets are more powerful than the computers that used to sit on our desks, just 10 years ago.

These are the types of trends and happening that as you go through your day to day, you have to realize and account for – or else you will get left behind and/or miss major – MAJOR opportunities!

Craig McCaw is a great example of someone in the telecom industry who has consistently capitalized on sweeping changes. From AT&T, to Nextel to Clearwire. Because, he has kept himself relevant by watching the larger marketplace.

(Darryl Gee, President at DG Wireless)

24. Understand the politics of any situation and think about your reaction. A wrong move can leave long lasting scars (in others perceptions) that can threaten career progression.

(Bryan Lade, General Manager at Author Services Technical (AST))

25.Never stop learning which also means: never stop being humble enough to understand you need to learn, and there are so many people out there who are better than you, AND

26. Rely on common sense. The way forward is generally, if not always, is the COMMON SENSE approach.

Too complex, too difficult to explain, too many premises, too many “if”s typically mean that you are not in the right direction.

(David Viamonte, Senior Technology Manager at Genaker)

27. Never leave the once-in-a-life-time opportunity. I still regret why I didn’t take that one. Keep learning all your life and do your best. Leave the rest to God or destiny whatever we may call it as per our faith.

(Nirpendra A, CA, CISA, CIA )

Source:unknown

28. To slow down and make sure that everything is correct and where it needs to be!

(Jim Rivers, Hiring Manager at Obsidian Entertainment)

So, What is the best lesson that you learnt in your career?

Here are the 10 money saving tips that have worked for me which would very well work for you too. I have acquired them by own experience of money (mis)management and from my friends, books and some old financial advisors. I am going to publish it as a two-part post because, it is fairly long and I think it is worth contemplating on each of these five aspect for a while. I am eagerly waiting for your comment as usual.

1) Pay yourself first
When the pay check comes, who comes to our mind first? Right, the bills. But, if you choose to set aside a specified sum for savings, you have done the first step in creating a secure future. The savings account you transfer should be without an ATM card access and the savings are for your major pleasure – for the year-end vacation, or for your dream car.

Additional tip: Ask your bank if they provide an additional low-fee account that provides high-interest-rate (up to 8% returns) for the savings. They are termed as investment accounts or award-saver accounts. I have a Commonwealth bank’s award saver account which penalises me (with a fee of $5) if I don’t deposit anything in it for a month. So, I make it a point to transfer at least $50 a month to avoid penalty fee.

2) Save before you spend
If you set aside a minimum amount out of every week’s pay regularly for a year, you would be surprised by the amount of money you had saved by the end of two year period. I am not saying that you should starve to save money. But, whatever little you can set aside, just do it. It could be as little as $50 a week or even $25 a week. Just transfer it and then you start spending the remaining money.

3) Don’t save cash
Saving in the form of cash (notes and coins) in a piggybank does not work (at least for me). When I have got some cash in hands, I would always find a way to spend it. I always pay from my card. At many a times, I have avoided unnecessary expenses, just because, the shopped did not have a debt card transaction or EFTPOS facility (thanks heaven!).

4) Carry a shopping list and stick to it
Prepare a shopping list before you go for shopping. This not only avoids the impulsive buying and you may tend to buy some unnecessary things that you may not require. Look for an item you would like to purchase and watch out for specials and choose that is of low price and good quality. Don’t buy a combo offer (‘Buy 3 to save $1’ kind) unless you need them. Most often we tend to buy 3 packs to save few extra cents only to dump one of them in the dust bin (after expiry).

Additional tip: Do not shop when you are hungry.

5) Budgeting every day’s expenses
I hate to sit down and write every day’s expenses – just like you. When I did it for one month and saw the benefits, I have found a new financial wisdom. I knew where my every dollar went. It is easy to remember your daily expenses and not down them in a small pocket diary. At the end of the month, just add them in categories, such as Groceries, Clothes, Food, Movie and other things. You would be surprised by the financial awareness it creates for you.

Contemplate on these five tips and say if they are worth.
